3D printed sex toys

by Beth Divine 28 Sep 2018

3D printing has been around for a while now, and it has come a long way from the early days when the things to be printed had to be of a certain (quite small) size. The first machines were only about to print items less than forty centimetres high, and wide, and deep, which was very limiting. The copies also had to be made from one very specific type of plastic as that was what the technology had been developed to use.

However, that was some time ago, and advances have seen amazing developments in the field of 3D printing. It is now possible to 3D print an entire house, which will hopefully revolutionise the problem with refugee camps and other temporary housing needs, as well as making sure that everyone can own their own home, no matter their income level or social standing.

The future of 3D printing is even brighter, with many materials being adapted to be used by the technology, and experiments with biological cells are proceeding. The hope is that – if biological cells can be shaped and printed in this way – one day we might be able to 3D print any organs that might be needed to replace those that are failing. This process could revolutionise the whole organ transplant system, making it so that everyone who needs one can get a heart, while issues of rejection will be brushed aside – the biological cells can be printed in the appropriate blood-type, so the organ is compatible with the recipient.

But on a more fun level, 3D printing is being used right now, to make personalised sex toys for people. There are templates available online for people to craft their own sex toy using their 3D printer in the privacy of their own homes, but it is also possible to design toys to suit specific bodies or tastes. Imagine your partner having, for example, a tentacle fetish. What could be more thoughtful than making them their very own tentacle toy with which to pleasure themselves – or indeed, even you?

But it is also possible to make an exact replica of a penis – or a copy with enhancements like an inch or two more length or a little bit more girth. Having a toy that is designed especially for the bodies on which it will be used is a great way to work towards more satisfying sex and more intense orgasms. Of course, this is a novel concept and much practise must be put into perfecting it…
