Benefits of Orgasm as a Couple

by Beth Divine 13 Sep 2018

Orgasm is often seen as the high point and the crescendo of sex, and it is most often attained by sex (or even by mutual masturbation if you feel like a change). But orgasm is far better than something that just feels good – it actually offers a lot of benefits to humans, improving both physical and mental health in a number of ways.

Good shared orgasms are a great way to bond in your relationship. You might not experience orgasm at exactly the same moment – although that is great when it happens – but you can both work to make sure that the other experiences a boost of pleasure during a nookie session. Plus, make up sex can be sensational – it is very hard to stay angry over something petty with someone who has just given you a mind-blowing orgasm. In fact, you might be inclined to return the favour sometime soon!

The longer you have been in a relationship, the more likely you are to trust the other and be able to relax with them in nudity and thus, be able to enjoy sex even more.

Being able to give the other a great time in bed is a sure-fire way engender affection between you – and affection can go a very long way to make sure that your relationship will weather any hard times that you might face, ensuring that you get through them, stronger and more in tune with each other than ever before.

Having good sex before bed is a pleasant way to ensure a good’s night sleep. The release of feel-good hormones that comes along with get sexual satisfaction make you simultaneously pleasantly relaxed, and also ready for a good night’s sleep in order to be rested after all your exertions.

Orgasms can even help to restore low mood, easing some of the symptoms of depression.  NB, sex is in no way a full cure for depression and moderate to severe depression can affect libido meaning that even the thought of trying to have sex result in even worse symptoms.  But if you have had a bad week and are feeling a little blue – then sex might be just what the doctor ordered.

Finally, sex and especially orgasm is great exercise! But, as with all exercise you must keep it up for at least half an hour to reap the full cardio-vascular benefits. So settle into bed and enjoy a lengthy bonk, with plenty of foreplay and lots of vigorous bouncing about to maximise the exercise benefits!
